If you're looking for affordable housing on the north side, Sankofa held its grand opening Wednesday. The $13.5 million, four-story building at North Campbell Avenue and West Commercial Street, the first ground-up construction on Historic Commercial Street in more than 50 years, has 42 apartments for households earning at or below 60% of area median income plus a business incubator run with the Springfield Multicultural Business Association.
