- ➤ Volunteers and city workers cleaned litter on Route 66 (from Glenstone Avenue to Chestnut Expressway) in Springfield as part of the Mother Road Refresh effort preparing for the National Route 66 Centennial Kickoff Celebration. KY3
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Springfield Art Museum held its monthly Fassnight Creek cleanup event Saturday in partnership with the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and offered an outdoor 'On the Lawn' event with free yoga, yard games & live music. The museum is accepting volunteers for future cleanups while it is closed for renovations. KY3
- ➤ Springfield Botanical Gardens hosted the Cherry Blossom Kite and Piñata Festival Saturday morning, where participants flew kites and decorated mini piñatas to celebrate cultural ties with Isesaki and Tlaquepaque, enjoying live performances plus a mini-market featuring Japanese and Mexican snacks. - ➤ Missouri State’s women’s basketball coach Beth Cunningham signed former El Dorado Springs guard Macie Mays from Pittsburg State on Friday.
