  • On Dec. 23, Share Your Christmas delivered gifts to over 50 families and 100 care center residents after a Dec. 19 drive by Crosslines Community Outreach — volunteers adapted to new warehouse space during construction.   • Coco, a rescue dog that escaped outside a Branson restaurant, was reunited—after more than two weeks in the woods—with her owner thanks to community help and professional trapper Brittany Scherff. Paul Davis used treats to coax her back safely.  KY3

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Better Business Bureau warns that gift cards bought as last-minute holiday gifts may be at risk of tampering or theft, so shoppers should check packaging for damage before purchasing online from a retailer. Consumers are urged to verify expiration dates and fees to avoid scams.  KY3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Springfield Public Schools and Jordan Valley Community Health Center announced on Dec. 18 a free health care program for students at 12 high-need schools with mobile clinics offering medical, dental and vision care throughout the current school year — a move to reduce missed class time.  Springfield Daily Citizen

  • Arvest Bank advises Springfield residents to review spending, tackle debt, and protect personal information by scheduling a financial checkup early 2026 while the Better Business Bureau warns of IRS scam calls (verify contacts before sharing details).  KY3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tracy Hooper received a phone call asking for donations—reportedly for local police safety equipment—and later got a letter from the American Police Officers Alliance that did not confirm support for Springfield Police. She urged residents to verify with their local police department before donating.  KY3
