- ➤ Help Give Hope has supported local families since 1981 by providing a Christmas project with toys and essentials and offering year-round aid such as rental and utility assistance — ensuring stability in tough times. - ➤ Sam Edwards, who uses a wheelchair for ALS, is offering a $1500 reward after his 56-pound English Bulldog went missing from his yard near Pomme de Terre Lake in mid September. Edwards hopes for a Christmas miracle (the search continues amid suspicious activity) ahead of the holidays. KY3
- ➤ The Salvation Army of Springfield has set a $923,000 goal for its Christmas campaign to support emergency shelters, food pantries, and after-school childcare for local families, including a $225,000 target for its annual Red Kettle Campaign at Bass Pro Shops. KY3

- ➤ Beth Atkins, an Ozarks native who lived in Springfield for 19 years, will be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune on KY3 this Thursday after the 6 o’clock news. The longtime fan, who applied three years ago, brought two grandchildren for a memorable experience. KY3

- ➤ On Dec. 8, Missouri Board of Education members and school officials toured the construction site of the new Reed Academy of Fine and Performing Arts in Springfield, a project funded by the 2023 bond that will open in summer 2026. Springfield News-Leader
- ➤ Drury University senior Katie Mizell is building a database to connect local playwrights with schools and reduce high licensing fees; the platform will launch by the new year. KY3
