Good morning, Springfield.

The Springfield school district is set to break ground on a new Pershing Middle School in mid-2026 — a $58 million project funded by a 2023 bond and scheduled to be finished in 2028.

The new two-story building for grades 6-8 will be built on the northeast campus while the old K-8 structure is demolished for athletic fields.

Missouri State lost 41-34 to Kennesaw State on Saturday as the Owls stopped trick plays and scored a late touchdown—quarterback Amari Odom threw a 14-yard pass to Chase Belcher to end Missouri State's five-game win streak.
