  • The Price Cutter Charity Championship returns today at 11 a.m. at Highland Springs Country Club — proceeds will benefit Ozarks children’s charities.  OzarksFirst.com

BUSINESS NEWS

  • City council voted Monday night on rezoning the vacant Kum & Go site at 2404 E. Sunshine — near Enterprise Ave. — to allow new retail development. Owner Brett Roubal — who has led projects like Chick-fil-A — plans to attract a national tenant, though detailed plans remain unannounced.  OzarksFirst.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Weird Al Yankovic will perform at the Ozarks Amphitheater on June 12 — and at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield on June 17 next summer. Ticket sales for the Springfield concert start November 21.  OzarksFirst.com
  • The Springfield Art Museum renovation has made significant progress as director Nick Nelson led a hard hat tour showing the transformed auditorium, new gallery space, and improved visitor flow; Phase 1 will finish by the end of September and museum officials will raise funds to start Phase 2 — the project aims to enhance community access and preserve its historic legacy.  KSMU

FINANCE NEWS

  • Home and auto insurance premiums are rising, with some Missourians facing an added cost of about $550 as companies adjust rates to cover claims from past weather events and inflation. Insurors say that the changes come after claims from several years ago and advise safe driving and comparing policy options to manage costs—moves affecting many customers.  KY3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Missouri issued partial SNAP benefits for November after a federal shutdown delayed full payments, with recipients receiving up to 65% of their normal funds. The Missouri Department of Social Services announced it is upgrading its systems with its benefits vendor to resume paying full amounts as soon as possible—official timing is pending.  Springfield News-Leader
  • New Day, a purpose-driven day center for unsheltered adults operated by Community Partnership of the Ozarks, will open in December at 809 N. Campbell Ave—funded by $1.7M in ARPA funds and marijuana sales tax revenues. HEALTH NEWS

  • In the Ozarks, medical experts advise travelers to wash hands, wear an N95 mask, and get vaccinated as families prepare for Thanksgiving—these steps aim to keep high-risk members safe during increased travel.   • On Saturday, Glendale senior Carson Butler and Central senior Brayden Miao each won three medals at the state swimming championships in St. Peters.
