- ➤ During the opening weekend of firearms deer season in Missouri, Webster County hunters were required to bring in their deer for Chronic Wasting Disease testing—samples are taken from the neck to detect the disease early. James Hurst celebrated his first deer harvest on Saturday, and testing resumed today at the MDC site. KY3

- ➤ A new analysis by Zumper found that apartment rents in Springfield increased 9% from last year's median, reaching a typical price of $1,195 in October — one-bedroom and two-bedroom units rose 12% and 10% respectively.
