- ➤ More than 3,000 runners took part in Bass Pro Shops' Conservation Marathon in Springfield on Sunday morning, and all proceeds went to local charities. The nonprofit event was organized by the retailer's Fitness Series (which supports programs for all ages) and ran with volunteer help. KY3

- ➤ Local firefighters reminded residents to check smoke alarms after turning back the clocks as daylight saving time ended. They advised that alarms in every bedroom and on every level be inspected—and units older than 10 years replaced—to help cut the risk of fire-related injuries. KY3
