- ➤ A motorcyclist died after a head-on collision at a Springfield intersection on West Bypass and Grand Street on Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m., when a turning vehicle collided with him. KY3
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 4, the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools awarded $205,248 in back-to-school grants to teachers and staff in 41 buildings—77 grants supported projects that enhance student learning. The foundation will continue to accept donations to fund additional projects throughout the school year. Springfield News-Leader

- ➤ A ticket sold in Missouri and one from Texas won Saturday night's Powerball jackpot by matching all six numbers with an estimated $1.787 billion prize—Missouri Lottery said details of the Missouri ticket's location will be announced within 72 hours and winners have until March 5 to claim their prizes.
