- ➤ Springfield police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an endangered person advisory after 58-year-old Sheila Jayne White left Cox South Hospital under duress on Aug.29 in a silver 2013 Chevrolet Equinox towing a boat—authorities ask anyone with information to call 911. - ➤ Missouri law requires drivers to use the right lane on highways except when passing, preparing to turn left or when the right side is closed for construction—drivers must quickly return after passing. Violations may result in misdemeanor charges and increase the risk of accidents—drivers should avoid lingering in blind spots. OzarksFirst.com

- ➤ On Aug. 29, Nixa defeated Republic by a score of 49 to 21 in a marquee high school football game as transfer running back Jayden McCaster scored four touchdowns in his debut. Nixa coach John Perry said McCaster’s speed — his best so far — may boost the team’s chances for a strong season. Springfield Daily Citizen
- ➤ USC defeated the Missouri State Bears 73-13 at Memorial Coliseum on August 30th in their FBS debut—scoring their most points since 1930 while Missouri State, formerly in FCS, struggled against a 602-yard offensive performance. - ➤ The Missouri State Bears will open their FBS season against Southern Cal on Saturday at 6:30 CST—coming off an 8-4 season that ended with a 45-9 loss to South Dakota State, they face a 35-point underdog challenge. The team hopes to establish momentum in their move to the FBS as they prepare for upcoming games. KY3
- ➤ Missouri State fans from Springfield and alumni traveled to Los Angeles yesterday for the Bears’ FBS debut against USC at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum—many flew in from the region for the game.
