ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Two teens from Bolivar were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 123 near Fair Play at 8:45 a.m. Saturday when a 1996 Dodge Ram went off the road and hit a tree—one teen, a 16-year-old boy who was not wearing his seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield while the 17-year-old girl was flown by medevac—and the truck was totaled. - ➤ Construction on the Sunshine Street Bridge began earlier this week and has disrupted traffic on West Sunshine—resulting in fewer customers for local businesses at Metro Eats food truck park and leading owners to pool funds for a marketing campaign amid a reported three-month delay and a loss of roughly 40,000 cars a day. - ➤ Drury University donors gave over $11.8 million in outright gifts, pledge payments and future commitments in the fiscal year, marking the second-highest annual giving performance—more than $3.2 million of which supported the Student Success Fund. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ CoxHealth has used a new minimally invasive procedure called TAMBE since May 1 to treat thoracoabdominal and pararenal aortic aneurysms by realigning the aorta with a stent graft with preset holes for key arteries—Dr. Stephen Gallo said the hospital in southwest Missouri treated four patients so far and will schedule more procedures soon.
