- ➤ Local business owners worry that the ongoing Renew Jordan Creek project might draw more homelessness and lead to safety issues near Park Central Square—while some fear unpredictable behavior and increased littering. - ➤ Staff at the Ozark Empire Fair urged families to plan ahead so that if a child becomes separated, they can be quickly found. The fair offers guest services (including a first aid station in the E-plex) and advises everyone to stay hydrated and safe while they enjoy the event. KY3

- ➤ Springfield Public Schools held a Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 26, at the Springfield Expo Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.—families received free lunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., backpacks and hygiene kits, immunization updates, fun activities, and prizes by scanning a QR code. KY3
- ➤ On Saturday, the MLK Commemorations Committee held a meet-and-greet for Missouri State’s new provost, Dr. Clarenda M. Phillips, who shared her plan to make college better for students and to build ties with local community members — she started her job on July 1. KY3
