  • Springfield's Ozark Empire Fair will open on July 24 at 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds and run through Aug. 2, offering rides, music and new food options—boba drinks, Nashville hot chicken and dirt dough cookies—plus free attractions like a butterfly kingdom, pig races and a petting zoo with special discount days and evening shows including fireworks and a drone display, weather permitting.  Springfield News-Leader

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A car crash at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday damaged Park Central Square when a vehicle being pursued by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies hit the curb and trees — authorities have not confirmed the driver’s condition or reason for the chase.  KY3

CRIME NEWS

  • Deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office said they have seen more scams in the area with fake calls and texts that list false warrants and demand money—residents are told to ignore these messages since government agencies never ask for payment by phone.  KY3
