- ➤ A local artist created a cartoon raccoon named Roger to encourage Rogersville residents to explore local businesses through a city-wide scavenger hunt. Andrea Ehrhardt said nearly 30 versions of Roger have been painted and more will be added soon (Rogersville was once known as the raccoon capital of the world). OzarksFirst.com

- ➤ A 45-year-old motorcycle driver named James Brady died after his motorcycle and a car collided on Saturday afternoon on Glenn Ave and State St—he was not wearing a helmet and this crash marked Springfield’s 12th fatal motor vehicle accident in 2025. KY3
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Kehoe signed House Bill 1041 last week to cut the tax on malt liquor from six cents to two cents per gallon, easing cost pressures for local breweries amid high ingredient tariffs and aluminum prices — brewery owners said the savings will be reinvested in their businesses and community spaces. - ➤ Springfield Contemporary Theater announced on Friday that it is pausing operations due to funding issues, leaving a gap in local arts.
