- ➤ United Way Ozarks Region is hosting its 33rd annual Day of Caring, with about 1,400 volunteers at 130 sites helping local nonprofits with yard work, painting, and cleaning. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday night, a 30-year-old Kirbyville man died when his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control on a curve on State Highway 76 east of Kirbyville in Taney County while a 37-year-old woman was seriously injured and taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield—this was the 53rd fatality for MSHP Troop D in 2025. - ➤ DeSean L. Franklin was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison without parole and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty on November 25th to conspiracy to traffic firearms, and he was identified as a close associate of the gang *ODB*. KY3
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Springfield City Council is debating a bill change that would let the Doran family keep proper access to their historic cemetery—maintained for almost 200 years—while the developer plans a gated community. - ➤ City officials held a public meeting Tuesday to begin a new effort to improve the Kearney Street Corridor—residents urged for grocery stores and restaurants while officials plan to update the redevelopment plan and present a revised proposal by early fall. KSMU
