- ➤ The Springfield-Greene County Library District is helping local entrepreneurs by providing free access to online courses and research tools—such as Udemy, PolicyMap and Gale Business: Insights—and hosting monthly business workshops. A one-day workshop on simple steps for starting a business will be held on July 11 in the Library Center auditorium to cover start-up basics, marketing and funding. Springfield News-Leader
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Springfield police say 19-year-old Lavontae Bennett died at his home on West Webster Street early Sunday morning, June 22—no one has been arrested and the incident is thought to be isolated. Springfield Daily Citizen
- ➤ Four citizens were injured in a Springfield shooting that took place early Sunday morning on June 22 at 2:04 a.m. on the 500 block of E. St. Louis Street + police report the injuries are non-life-threatening and no suspect has been taken into custody. OzarksFirst.com
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri State University completed a six-month review of its scholarship programs and will phase out some awards to boost need-based and merit-based aid for prospective students—current recipients will keep their scholarships. University officials said the changes are designed to attract more students to campus and better manage financial support. Springfield News-Leader

- ➤ At today's Springfield city council meeting, residents voiced worries over a proposal to rezone 104 acres near N.
