ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Springfield Fire responded to smoke in the basement of Missouri State University's Craig Hall on Sunday night and quickly contained a small fire—officials are now investigating the cause. KY3
- ➤ A Springfield woman was seriously injured when her boat exploded Saturday morning at Indian Point Marina after she filled it with gas—she was airlifted to a local hospital—while an 18-year-old woman suffered minor injuries. KY3
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ In June 1959, Christian County residents gathered in front of the Centennial Jail in Ozark for their centennial celebration and joined events like a parade, beauty pageant, craft fair, and beard contest. The historical photograph featuring community members such as Mrs. Peggy Noe and Miss Betty Stewart—displayed weekly by the Springfield-Greene County Library District and the Springfield News-Leader—captures a key moment in local history.
