- ➤ Community members in University Heights celebrated 100 years with an outdoor picnic at Phelps Grove Park on Saturday that featured games, live music, and cake—despite recent local disputes—while the official centennial will be marked on June 13. KY3
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fifty people gathered May 30 at SHOP Family Ministries in Fordland to pray for the Rogersville teens—15-year-old Brianna Williams and 16-year-old Ryan Newsome—who died in a May 29 crash when a 2008 Mercury Mariner driven by a 17-year-old collided with a semi-truck. Springfield Daily Citizen

- ➤ The Missouri State Highway Patrol warns that riding ATVs and UTVs safely is key— a crash near Highlandville recently injured a teenager— and reminds riders to register their vehicles and follow the same highway rules as other drivers. KY3
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ CoxHealth Trauma Services hosted a kids’ health and safety fair Saturday in Springfield — offering bike and water safety tips, free helmets and life jackets along with emergency vehicle tours and car seat checks to help families save on costly safety gear. KY3
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Runners from Springfield raced at Hammons Field on Saturday morning in the 2nd annual Cardinals Redbird Run, which offered 5k, 9k and one-mile races—each participant received a free ticket for a game later. Proceeds from the event helped fund local community projects. KY3
- ➤ Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco spent Friday, May 30 at Springfield Catholic with hundreds of young athletes from the Ozarks+ local coaches leading a youth football camp that taught football skills and character.
