- ➤ On May 21, Springfield hosted a free plant and seed giveaway at the west parking lot of Crosslines Community Outreach on E. Division St.—organizers from Ozarks Food Harvest and Crosslines Community Connections gave away peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and seeds—and local experts taught simple tips on composting and container gardening. - ➤ The Ozarks Regional YMCA will run Camp Wakonda in Ash Grove this summer, offering six-day sessions for ages 7 to 17 and three-day mini camps for younger children with eight different themes. - ➤ Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wooded area northwest of the intersection of West Junction Street and Farm Road 123 on May 21st after human skeletal remains were found at a homeless camp—authorities are processing the evidence and asking anyone with information to come forward. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Unlike many states that let libraries offer free park passes, Missouri libraries do not provide passes for state parks because admission is free and the parks are funded by a dedicated sales tax—instead, libraries offer passes for area museums and local attractions.
