CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Greene County Deputies found two dead men in a trailer at Lakewood Mobile Home Park after a 911 call reported gunshots at 2:15 a.m. Saturday— the sheriff’s office said the investigation found no immediate threat and no suspect has been taken into custody. KY3
- ➤ Kai Burton, a 29-year-old Springfield man, is facing charges for first-degree robbery, vehicle tampering, unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting arrest after he ordered food at a McDonald's drive-thru on May 11 while in a stolen car with a gun on his lap and left without paying. KY3

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Missouri lawmakers passed a bill on May 12 that bans hair-based discrimination in public schools and strengthens college hazing laws, and the measure now sits on Governor Mike Kehoe's desk for approval. Senator Barbara Anne Washington said the new law, known as the CROWN Act (Missouri Creating an Open World for Natural Hair Act), will help protect students from unfair treatment and promote safer college campuses. - ➤ Data shows that Greene County homes were listed at a median price of $323,825 in April, up 1.2% from March. The market saw 538 new listings — a 14.5% increase from last April. Springfield News-Leader
