CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested a student at Nixa High School after an unloaded handgun and a box of ammo were found in the student’s backpack — officials say there was no intent to use the weapon and the incident is under investigation. KY3
- ➤ Kathry Rose Todd pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced to three years in prison on April 21st at Greene County Circuit Court for an assault charge stemming from a 2024 shooting at a Division Street business—she tossed a soda can during an argument inside the store. OzarksFirst.com

- ➤ Comedian Chris D’Elia will perform at the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield on Saturday, September 20 as part of his Multiverse Tour—tickets will go on sale on April 25 at noon. OzarksFirst.com
- ➤ Missouri State University will host a free President's Concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Juanita K. Hammons Hall where associate choral studies director Erin Plisco will conduct nearly 300 performers in works by Jocelyn Hagen and Adolphus Hailstork. - ➤ The James River Basin Partnership is holding an Earth Day trash cleanup along Lake Springfield and the James River today. Over 80 pre-registered volunteers will work on land—rain has kept them from using kayaks and canoes. OzarksFirst.com
- ➤ The Springfield Plateau Prescribed Burn Association met Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center to discuss how controlled burns helped return the land to natural prairies and savannahs+President Bob Elworth, who has used fire on his own land for 40 years, said the meeting welcomed anyone interested in learning safe burning techniques and aimed to involve more young people. - ➤ On Earth Day, Springfield Conservation & Nature Center staff removed invasive bush honeysuckle from its 79-acre site to restore native habitats—efforts that opened the canopy and allowed wildflowers and saplings to grow across five ecosystems. KY3
