- ➤ Stick It In Your Ear — a record store off East Walnut Street — is preparing for Record Store Day today with employees expecting long lines starting Friday night. Fans can look for exclusive vinyl releases and enjoy free breakfast at Gailey’s Breakfast Cafe beginning at 6 a.m. KY3
- ➤ About 200 people attended the brick-laying ceremony at Victims Memorial Garden at Phelps Grove Park on Thursday, April 10, where six bricks were dedicated to victims, survivors, and law enforcement—Kim Pulley, first assistant prosecuting attorney, said the bricks serve as a lasting symbol of loss and remembrance in our community. - ➤ The North Springfield Betterment Association will donate 23 bicycles Monday to Springfield Public Schools students to help improve attendance — this effort brings the ROAD committee’s total to 82 bicycles given this school year. - ➤ U.S. Bank and the Downtown Springfield Association have opened applications for the third round of ASCEND grants that offer five $5,000 awards to small businesses in center city. The program builds on past rounds that supported local restaurants, shops and service providers and is supported by the Springfield Finance and Development Corporation, efactory at Missouri State University and the Multicultural Business Association. - ➤ Police investigated the deaths of two people found at a house and two businesses in the 200 block of East Kearney near Boonville Avenue around 11 a.m. on Friday—homicide investigators are looking into the cause and say there is no danger to the public. KY3

- ➤ Springfield is offering many wine dinners this April that pair global vintages with gourmet meals at local venues such as Vino Cellars, Gilardi’s Ristorante, Cellar+Plate and SPLIT Social Kitchen. - ➤ Missouri State’s Athletic Director Patrick Ransdell said the school is holding logistical meetings to plan paying athletes starting in the next season and this summer after its exit from the Missouri Valley Conference.
