  • Eden Animal Haven (in Springfield) will host its annual Rock the Cat's Paw event this weekend to raise funds for its largest cat rescue fundraiser. The 80s-themed party will include music and fun for local supporters.  KY3

  • Arvest Bank announced leadership promotions for Sarah Lowe, Summer Massey and Zion Spurgeon in Springfield. Lowe becomes business banking manager, Massey takes on the role of executive vice president and loan manager, and Spurgeon will manage commercial loans.  Springfield News-Leader

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Missouri State University has named Eric Schick as its new chief financial officer, effective April 13, and he will oversee financial operations and guide long-range planning. Schick brings over 25 years of experience in higher education and health care.  Springfield News-Leader
  • Missouri State University student clubs help strengthen campus life and benefit the community by contributing thousands of hours to local service (including ties to hospitals and clinics). GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has set new rules for charter captains on Table Rock Lake to ensure they hold valid licenses and insurance (amphibious vehicles and alcohol are banned, and vessels are limited to 12 passengers) as boating picks up this season.  KY3

  • Willard Police Chief Tom McClain received a double lung transplant Tuesday and is recovering at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. His daughter Ashley said the surgery went perfectly and he will remain in St. Louis for at least three months following the procedure.  KY3
