- ➤ On Saturday, a refugee rally moved indoors to South Street Christian Church in Springfield as speakers including Mayor Ken McClure, Dr. Lois Olena + Sue Conine stressed the need to support migrants in the community. KY3
- ➤ On April 5, about 300 people gathered at South Street Christian Church downtown to show support for refugees at the ‘Standing With Our Neighbors — Welcoming Refugees’ rally. The event was co-sponsored by the International Institute of Southwest Missouri, Missouri Faith Voices and NAACP-Springfield Branch, and speakers such as incoming director Jason Gaugert and outgoing mayor Ken McClure stressed that welcoming immigrants benefits the local community. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A tractor-trailer overturned on eastbound US 60 east of Mansfield Friday night, killing multiple cattle and causing some to escape while a Springfield driver was injured when his Chrysler Voyager hit a cow on westbound US 60 near Lead Hill Drive—roads were temporarily closed for safety.
