- ➤ Animal control reported a large lab mix puppy was found near Cherry and National in Springfield; he weighs about 65 pounds, is likely 9 or 10 months old, and shows signs of care—if you recognize him, call animal control at 417-833-3592. KY3
- ➤ Springfield-based Ozarks Food Harvest will lose about $3 million in food this year after the USDA canceled $500 million in government commodities last week, leaving the food bank to rely on donations to serve nearly 70,000 people monthly + support 270 local charities. The agency approved bonus purchases for fruits, vegetables and tree nuts, but the food bank said delivery dates remain unknown. Springfield Daily Citizen

- ➤ On Saturday night, two people were shot at a downtown Springfield bar at 620 W. College Street—officers responded around 10 p.m. and treated the injured at a local hospital while no suspect was in custody. KY3
- ➤ Springfield police arrested 19-year-old Quartze Washington — wanted for the murder of 26-year-old Chavez Nguyen near College and Grant in November — in Danville, Illinois while 21-year-old Arshaun Bradley remains at large and Elysha Bedell plus two juveniles were booked on related charges. KSMU
- ➤ Gregory Lee Marsh, a 41 year old felon from Republic, fired a shotgun through the floor of an upstairs apartment in a Greene County building shortly before midnight on March 25, sending a shell into the master bedroom but leaving no one injured and landing him in jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a dangerous felon and unlawful discharge of a firearm. - ➤ Crews are closing the intersection at Galloway and Luster for another month to build a roundabout—causing lane closures and delays for drivers in Springfield. Other projects, including a West Sunshine Street bridge rebuild and the I44 widening that ends in 2027, will also affect road travel and local businesses. OzarksFirst.com
- ➤ Two political action committees are involved in the Springfield school board race with the April 8 vote set to choose candidates for three-year terms, as United Springfield raised $159,117 with nearly 98% from local donors and Back on Track America raised $42,743 with 79% coming from outside Springfield.
