- ➤ The Springfield metro surpassed 500,000 residents as of July 1, and officials said the milestone will boost investment and spark larger projects in the region, strengthening its role as a hub for health care + professional services. Springfield News-Leader
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri education officials are testing a new system for student assessments (grades 3-8) that provides results in 24 to 48 hours instead of a long wait. The pilot will expand next year before the test is used statewide in the 2028-29 school year. Springfield News-Leader
- ➤ Springfield Little Theatre is now accepting registration for its 2026 Summer Youth Programs today.
