ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Two Greene County deputies suffered minor injuries in a three-car crash in Springfield when a vehicle ran a stop sign on Lynn Street and hit a detention van that then T-boned another vehicle — no inmates or other drivers reported injuries. KY3

- ➤ The nonpartisan Informed Voter Coalition interviewed candidates running for the Springfield Board of Education to share details on their visions and proposals for local schools—helping voters compare options. Springfield News-Leader
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nineteen endangered sea turtles from Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield were released off the coast of Little Talbot Island State Park on March 26th after spending 13 weeks in care—seven Kemp's ridley and 12 loggerhead turtles that were rescued after suffering cold-stunning have now returned to the wild. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A proposed budget resolution approved last month would cut federal Medicaid and SNAP funds—potentially costing Missouri more than 20,000 jobs and creating a $2 billion gap in the state budget. Lawmakers may have to raise taxes or cut other programs—especially in rural areas—to cover the shortfall. Springfield News-Leader

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mercy hosted a column signing ceremony on Thursday for its $32 million emergency room in south Springfield, which will be attached to its orthopedic hospital near U.S. 65 and Evans Road. The facility includes 11 beds, a trauma room, patient holding rooms & an isolation room and is expected to serve up to 18,000 patients a year before opening this winter. KY3
