COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Day of the Dog Festival will be in Springfield on Saturday, April 18 to celebrate dogs' companionship and loyalty + benefit the Missouri Killuminati Foundation. Organizers have shared details on what attendees can expect.  KY3
  • Ozarks Food Harvest is supplying food to unpaid TSA workers in Springfield and Joplin today because federal funding has not resumed, and the nonprofit will check weekly whether support should continue. Airport officials say the food aid helps workers+families meet daily needs until the pay issue is resolved.  KY3

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Show-Me Network is connecting Missouri entrepreneurs with free business support and training opportunities. Led by efactory at Missouri State and codefi, the network helps startups schedule expert help for funding and growth (SSBCI-funded).  KY3

CULTURE NEWS

  • A veteran-themed mural replacing a long-standing Robert E. Smith artwork is almost complete downtown at Campbell and Walnut Lawn. The mural will be unveiled on Saturday (10 a.m. to noon) at an event featuring mimosas, coffee, and donuts.  KY3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • More than 3,000 students from 95 schools will try real-world construction trades at the Build My Future showcase on April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex (featuring 67 interactive exhibits including brick laying, carpentry, and plumbing).  Springfield News-Leader

HEALTH NEWS

  • CTValkyrie and Mid-America Transplant, with Missouri S&T backing, will launch a drone corridor to deliver transplant materials from Springfield to St. Louis — lowering costs and halving delivery times.
