- ➤ On Tuesday, Mar. 17, Breakthru Beverage Missouri and Jameson Irish Whiskey will offer 500 free Lyft rides in Springfield as part of the Safe Home After Every Occasion program + promote safe travel. Riders can use code BBGSTPAT26 for up to a $30 ride from 10 a.m. until midnight Tuesday. KY3
- ➤ On Thursday, Mar. 12, James River Church sent grocery bags home with students at four Springfield and four Joplin elementary schools before spring break. The non-denominational church, based in Ozark (serving about 11,500 weekly), aimed to help families in need. Springfield Daily Citizen
- ➤ Springfield-based Convoy of Hope is delivering tarps, totes, food and water to communities in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois after multiple tornadoes caused fatalities and home losses, as it aims to ease material and emotional distress in the affected areas. KY3
- ➤ Springfield Community Gardens received a $959,000 federal grant to fund its Fresh Links project, linking food hubs in Springfield, Kansas City and St. Louis to address food insecurity. - ➤ Greene County employers can sign up for Child Care Works, a childcare pilot program facilitated by Community Partnership of the Ozarks that splits costs among employees, employers, and the state today; the program (supported by a $2.5 million state investment) aims to ease childcare challenges and improve workforce retention.
