- ➤ Springfield City Council approved $30 million from SGF tax revenue to complete the museum’s renovation. Museum Director Nick Nelson said Phase 2 will add galleries, educational spaces, and outdoor event areas this fall to prepare for the museum’s 100th anniversary in 2028 (project details reviewed by board members). - ➤ A sculpture titled 'Ghost of the Colonial Hotel' is planned for installation at the former site at the corner of St. Louis and Jefferson to honor the building where the Route 66 telegram was sent. The project highlights the city’s historic link to the famous highway. KY3
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Missouri State University has launched a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, making it the first public institution here to offer a four-year degree in tourism management.
