COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A $280,000 donation from Larry and Tracy Lipscomb funds the Memory Lab at the Library Center to help families digitize photos, films and record oral histories. Construction will begin later this summer with the lab, named for local historian Cathryn (Kitty) Cox Lipscomb, opening in early 2027. Springfield News-Leader

- ➤ Springfield-Greene County Library opened a new Library Center Hatch Auditorium and a 22,000-sqft Republic Branch Library and launched a revamped Local History & Genealogy blog with local stories (4653 S. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A bill advancing to the Missouri Senate would require all public schools to test students for gifted education before third grade, with Springfield Public Schools already screening second graders (to identify high IQ). Lawmakers say additional funding is needed to support the initiative. KY3
