- ➤ Guaranty Bank has promoted three Springfield leaders to new roles in its lending teams — Courtney Carter and Sarah Everett are now vice presidents for residential lending while Brett LaForest becomes vice president for consumer lending and underwriting. - ➤ The Springfield-Greene County Library has kicked off its 27th annual Design-A-Bookmark Contest for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade – winning entries will be featured on bookmarks and winners will receive a certificate plus a Hobby Lobby gift card. - ➤ Missouri State student Rachel Robinson joined the competitive GRAMMY U program, a prestigious opportunity that connects emerging musicians with industry mentors & events. - ➤ Missouri lawmakers filed a bill on Feb. 4 to limit elementary students’ screen time to 45 minutes per day and require at least 70% of assignments be handwritten including cursive instruction. - ➤ The Greene County Clerk’s Office partnered with NaviLens to install multi-colored codes (like QR codes) inside the courthouse so visitors using the NaviLens app get audio navigation; the system is also at the History Museum on the Square and the Blind Community Thrift Store on North Kansas Expressway. - ➤ Missourians are urging state senators to support the Islet Act, a bill that would reclassify pancreatic cell transplants to improve insurance coverage for diabetes treatment. The push has grown since November 2025 as families seek better long-term care for type one diabetes. KY3
