- ➤ Springfield-based entrepreneur Doug Pitt was named the 2026 Springfieldian at the chamber’s annual meeting on January 30 for his decades of service in business, education and nonprofit work. The award honors his founding of Care to Learn to help support students’ basic needs. KSMU
- ➤ The Drew Lewis Foundation launched the Hope Movement today to inspire neighbors with small acts that strengthen community bonds. The campaign brings together its core programs and will feature community stories and events at the Fairbanks Community Hub, inviting residents to nominate a monthly hope giver (a local boost for neighborly ties). - ➤ Retailer 5 Pound Apparel announced that its downtown store at 412 South Ave. will close by the end of February to shift operations online and serve as a wholesale space until it moves to a smaller location later; the store will offer special discounts throughout February with free local delivery.
