- ➤ With a $280,000 donation from Larry & Tracy Lipscomb, the Springfield-Greene County Library District plans a new memory lab at The Library Center for genealogy research. The board of trustees will review the gift at 4 p.m. on Jan. 20 and, if approved, construction will begin this spring. Springfield Daily Citizen
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri Public Service Commission approved Liberty Utilities’ conditional rate increase today that will boost the utility’s revenue by up to $97M, subject to improvements in billing & service. The change will cost the average customer about $9 more per month and include a new Fresh Start program. KY3
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local experts warn that today's frigid temperatures could make car windows icy, and they advise Springfield drivers to start the engine, set the heater to defrost, and spray a mix of rubbing alcohol and water (avoid hot water or iced wipers to prevent damage). KY3
