GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A New York congressman requested that the FTC investigate Collectors Universe for antitrust violations after the company gained control of over 80% of the sports card grading market (PSA graded 1.66 million cards in November) and local card shops may face tougher competition. KY3
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Missouri will start receiving an extra $216 million per year under a $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program to support rural hospitals and behavioral health services, with state agencies (overseeing fund distribution) ensuring the money benefits communities by improving access. Funds are expected to become available later this year. KY3
- ➤ Mercy Hospital Springfield reported six newborns by 2 p.m. on New Year's Day, and CoxHealth recorded three more deliveries by 10:53 a.m. both hospitals provided gift baskets to their first babies. Springfield News-Leader
