About this event
Roll up your sleeves, grab an apron, and come cook with us! Join local restaurateur Joe Gidman, owner of Cafe Cusco, Van Gogh’s Eeterie, and La Roux Bistro, and our friends from Drury University for a hands-on class at the Fairbanks. Drury students are doing the work to plan and prep this event and bring it to the Fairbanks.
Together, we’ll do the prep work for Thursday night’s Community Dinner, so your chopping and seasoning will help feed our neighbors. Each week at the Fairbanks, Community Dinner feeds between 60 and 90 of our neighbors, whether a senior looking for community, a family in RISE, or someone battling a housing crisis.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to make a meal you can recreate at home on a smaller scale. Then sit down and enjoy a meal cooked by Joe.
